Kelly Clarkson, the 40-year-old pop superstar and television personality, has officially revealed the title of her upcoming post-divorce album, “Chemistry.”

The announcement was made on Sunday (March 26) through her Instagram account. Fans can expect new music from the forthcoming release very soon.

A Three-Year Journey

The album, which has been in the works for almost three years, was uncertain to be released at one point.

Clarkson explained that she chose the title “Chemistry” because she wanted a word that would describe the entire album without limiting it to one or two emotions.

She further stated that the album represents the arc of an entire relationship, encompassing the good, the bad, and the ugly aspects.

The singer emphasized that chemistry could be amazing, sexy, cool, and fun, but it could also be harmful.

Although no specific release date has been provided, Clarkson assured her fans that the album would be out soon, with new music arriving even sooner.

The Inspiration Behind Chemistry

In a September 2022 interview with Variety, Clarkson shared that she had been working on new music following her separation and subsequent divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock in 2020.

She described the process of writing numerous songs for the album, which was ultimately inspired by the emotional journey she experienced during her tumultuous split with Blackstone, with whom she shares two young children.

The singer has been open about her reluctance to marry again after her divorce from Blackstock.

This album, set to be released on Atlantic Records, captures the full range of emotions she experienced during her relationship, from the beautiful beginning to its eventual evolution and dissolution.

Her eighth studio album, 2017’s “Meaning of Life,” peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of “Chemistry” and its first single.

Clarkson’s Instagram announcement has been met with excitement, as followers express their readiness for the new album and support for the singer’s upcoming Las Vegas performances.

In a recent Instagram post, Clarkson shared a series of images including a glass of red wine, a broken heart, and the sun, which some fans believe represent the arc she has described for her new album.
