H. M. Naqvi

H. M. Naqvi is an award-winning author. His debut book, Home Boy, was hailed by The New York Times as “a remarkably engaging novel that delights as it disturbs” and was awarded the DSC Prize for South Asian Literature in 2011. His second novel, The Selected Works of Abdullah the Cossack, was called “gorgeous, utterly original” by critic John Freeman and a “delirious love letter to Karachi” by The Wall Street Journal. Naqvi has worked in the financial services industry and taught creative writing at Boston University and the Lahore University of Management Sciences. Over the years, he has appeared on CNN, NPR, and BBC World Service. Ensconced in Karachi, Pakistan, Naqvi is working on his third novel and a collection of essays. He can be found on Twitter at
