He talks about the importance of instilling his values in his children, and the joy of making memories with them while they explore the beauty of the valley.
With this interview, we get a glimpse into the lives of the Mills family and learn what it means to be a part of this tight-knit community.
Is there a particular childhood memory that stands out to you growing up in the valley? Or a defining moment you think influenced the person you are today? I have many memories of growing up in the valley.
My earliest memories are of living in a house near the foothills in the south part of the valley. I have lots of memories of camping and hiking as a child and teenager.
I also have many memories of going to the movies with my family. My parents took me to the movies every week, and we saw a lot of first run movies at the local theaters. This was a great way to grow up and see a wide variety of films and meet people.
What are some things you, your family, and your community do to stay connected? I think the most important thing is to participate in the community and culture of the valley, and to be aware of what is going on.
I am on a few civic and local government boards, and I am very active in my children’s school. I am a member of the Rotary Club and the local Chamber of Commerce. My wife is on the board of the local YMCA and is active in the PTA at our children’s school.
We are actively involved in our church and several church organizations, and my wife is an officer in our local Episcopal Women’s organization.
Some parents may be concerned about raising children in a small town. How do you feel raising kids in a small valley town? What are some ways you think it affects your children positively?
Some ways that it may affect them negatively? I don’t think there is any concern about raising children in a small valley town. It is a great place to raise kids. Yes, it is a small town, but it is a safe and healthy environment with a wide variety of activities and people.
The schools are very good, as are the medical facilities. The kids have a great set of opportunities to learn and grow, and they are given a wide variety of experiences and challenges.
What are some of the values you try to instill in your children through your actions? How do you think those values might differ from your childhood? I think, like most parents, I try to instill a set of values in my children. I think it is more important to show them than to tell them.
By the way I live my life, I hope they can see what values are important to me, and what I believe in. I also hope they can see that those values are important not only to me but to their mother as well, and that we agree on those values.
How do you get outside with your children? What are some activities you enjoy doing together? We do a lot of outdoor activities as a family.
We go hiking, camping, and kayaking in our kayak. We go cycling, and during the winter, we go cross-country skiing. We also try to go on trips to other parts of the country and the world. We try to get outside as much as we can.
We try to find the beauty in everything we do. We try to make it more than just getting outside and going on an activity. We try to make it an experience that my children will remember and be enriched by.
How do you try to make memories with your children? How do you think this differs from when you were a child? I try to make memories with my children every day.
I try to be aware of the things we are doing, and try to make them more than just going to school or running errands. I try to incorporate something about the place we are going or doing something out of the ordinary.
I think it is very important for parents to try to make memories with their children. And I think it is even more important for parents to remember the things their children did as children and try to incorporate those memories into their own lives as parents.
Being a parent in the valley brings challenges and rewards. What are some of the challenges you have faced as a parent in the valley? What have been some of the most rewarding experiences being a parent in the valley?
There are challenges and rewards in every part of the country, and every environment. I think that being a parent in the valley is no different. The challenges are those of any parent no matter where they are.
There are always challenges in raising children, getting them educated, keeping them safe, and trying to instill values in them. And, trying to keep them happy and fulfilled as they grow up and mature.
If you could give one piece of advice to a new parent in the valley, what would it be? The advice I would give to a new parent in the valley is to try to connect with the community and the culture of the valley.
Try to find out what the history of the valley is, who the local people are, and what the culture is. Try to get involved in the community, and try to make the valley a part of you and your family. Being a parent in the valley is a special experience.
The challenges and rewards of raising children in this environment are the same as being a parent anywhere else.
However, being a parent in the valley has its own unique charm. From the small-town values to the outdoor activities, there is something special and unique about being a parent in this special place.
