Kim Kardashian is set to make her scripted TV debut in the highly anticipated 12th season of FX’s American Horror Story (AHS), titled “Delicate.”
The reality star and entrepreneur will star alongside returning AHS alum Emma Roberts.
The forthcoming season is written and showrun by a single writer, Halley Feiffer, a first for the popular horror anthology series.
Kardashian’s involvement with AHS comes as a result of her friendship with the series co-creator, Ryan Murphy.
Murphy was reportedly impressed by Kardashian’s well-received hosting gig on Saturday Night Live in 2021 and began discussions with her about creating a unique role for her debut.
Specific details about Kardashian’s and Roberts’ roles remain under wraps, with the only hint being that the season is based on Danielle Valentine’s upcoming novel, Delicate Condition.
The novel, set to be released in August by Sourcebooks Landmark, is described as a gripping thriller about a woman who becomes convinced that a sinister figure is trying to prevent her pregnancy.
Delicate Condition has been dubbed “the feminist update to Rosemary’s Baby we all needed” by author Andrea Bartz.
The 12th season of American Horror Story, executive produced by Ryan Murphy, co-creator Brad Falchuk, Halley Feiffer, Alexis Martin Woodall, and Scott Robertson, is set to begin filming in New York City later in April.
This is not the first time AHS has brought in high-profile celebrities, as the series previously cast Lady Gaga in season five, which led to her successful film career.
Emma Roberts, who has been part of the AHS rotating cast since 2013, returns to the franchise after a four-year hiatus.
Kardashian’s involvement with AHS also solidifies her relationship with Disney.
Her family’s reality show, The Kardashians, was launched on Disney-owned Hulu just a year ago. Additionally, Hulu serves as the digital home for FX’s programming slate.

A summer premiere is expected, with Murphy and FX anticipated to announce an exact date in June.
The series remains one of the longest-running and successful properties in Ryan Murphy Productions’ extensive TV portfolio, earning over 100 Emmy nominations and winning 13 awards to date.
