Following her recent triumph as Best Actress at the Oscars for her role in “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” Michelle Yeoh is set to reprise her role in the Star Trek universe.

Yeoh will be starring in a “Star Trek: Discovery” spinoff movie event for Paramount+ called “Section 31.” The actress initially joined the “Discovery” cast in 2017, brilliantly portraying two characters: the kind-hearted Capt.

Philippa Georgiou and her sinister Mirror Universe counterpart, Empress Georgiou of the Terran Empire.

A Secret Starfleet Division: Section 31

“Star Trek: Section 31” will delve into the story of Emperor Philippa Georgiou as she becomes involved with a covert faction within Starfleet Intelligence known as Section 31.

This secretive division is devoted to preserving the United Federation of Planets, often adopting a morally complex, “ends justify the means” approach to achieve its objectives.

The movie, which is produced by CBS Studios, is slated to begin production later this year.
